RAWTを使用してのAS/400へのEspressReportインストール【Java対応レポート・帳票ツールEspressReport】

A key note about the AS/400.  It does NOT have its own graphics card/adapter. In order to use AWT (which EspressReport does use), you need to set up RAWT (Remote Abstract Windows Toolkit) on a client machine and have the AS/400 connect to that client machine for its AWT needs.

To set up RAWT, please go to the IBM web site and download the jar files and instructions necessary to set RAWT.  Choose a client machine and run the jar file there (please make sure you are using the 1.2.2 RAWT and not the earlier version)

To run the installation file on the AS/400, you need to go to the QShell and type in the RUNJVA and press F4 to see the different options.  Here, you would put the class name as ‘espressreport’ (without the quotes), classpath as ” and then scroll down to the property
values and enter the following properties
Property Name RmtAwtServer
Property Value
Property Name os400.class.path.rawt
Property Value 1
Property Name java.version
Property Value 1.2

If you want to enter more property values, enter + for more properties

This should then start the installation program.  The GUI for the installation program will appear on the RAWT machine (i.e., on the machine running RAWT). However, the installation is being run on the AS/400.  Install Espressreport.

You will need to disregard the batch files that get created.  To run the EspressManager, type RUNJVA and F4 at the QShell command prompt and enter the following parameters
Class quadbase.common.server.Server

Classpath /lib/EspressManager.jar:
/lib/parser.jar:
/lib/jaxp.jar:
/lib/ExportLib.jar

Property Name RmtAwtServer
Property Value

Property Name os400.class.path.rawt
Property Value 1

Property Name java.version
Property Value 1.2

Property Name user.dir
Property Value

Executing this will then start the EspressManager with the monitor (the GUI monitor) appearing on the RAWT machine.

To run the designer as an application, type RUNJVA and F4 at the QShell command prompt and enter the following parameters
Class quadbase.reportdesigner.designer.ReportClient

Classpath /lib/ReportDesigner.jar:
/lib/parser.jar:
/lib/jaxp.jar:
/lib/ExportLib.jar

Property Name RmtAwtServer
Property Value

Property Name os400.class.path.rawt
Property Value 1

Property Name java.version
Property Value 1.2

Property Name user.dir
Property Value

Executing this will start the Report Designer GUI on the RAWT machine.

Executing any applications using EspressReport requires you to use the RUNJVA
command with the common parameters shared above.

When using EspressReport with WebSphere to run servlets/JSP’s, note that the JVM option in the Admin Console MUST be changed to include
-Dos400.class.path.rawt=1 -DRmtAwtServer=
